Bringing Science to the Stable: The 15th International Equitation Science Conference, 2019
The conference theme of “bringing science to the stable” explored the origins and evolution of our relationship with horses, the current state of equitation science and what we have learned, and the promising future to improve the lives of all equids. The five keynote speakers each spoke to one of these sub-themes, while the 23 oral presentations and 21 poster presentations examined interactions between horses, riders, equipment and the environment.
5th International Conference on the Assessment of Animal Welfare at Farm and Group Level, 2011
The meeting focussed on assessment and auditing of welfare on farm and in groups of animals, with a European emphasis blended with research results from around the world.
Tim Horton's Sustainable Food Management Summit, 2013
This industry summit was designed to identify opportunities and barriers in the development of sustainable supply chains, with animal welfare considerations in the foodservice and retail industries.
International Dairy Cattle Welfare Symposium, 2010
This was an international three-day Symposium dedicated to the welfare of dairy cattle organized by the University of Guelph and its Campbell Centre for the Study of Animal Welfare.
Caring During Crisis, Animal Welfare during Pandemics and Natural Disasters, 2007
The objectives of this symposium were (1) to raise awareness about how animals, and the people who care for them, are affected during pandemics and natural disasters, and (2) to share knowledge about how animal welfare may be addressed during these situations. The symposium provided presentations, discussions and proceedings that may be used as a framework document for policy makers and stakeholders to address animal welfare within emergency response plans at local, national and international levels.
International Society for Applied Ethology (ISAE) Regional Meeting, 2000
The Society was created in Edinburgh on June 4, 1966 as the Society for Veterinary Ethology (SVE). It rapidly expanded to cover all applied aspects of Ethology and other Behavioural Sciences relevant to human-animal interactions such as farming, wildlife management, the keeping of companion and laboratory animals, and the control of pests. The Society also quickly became increasingly international: it now has an international federal structure as well as regional representatives around the world. This conference brought together members from across Canada.
30th International Congress of the International Socety for Applied Ethology, 1996
