Past donors
The Campbell Centre is grateful to the donors that have supported our animal welfare work over the years. One of our first donors was Mona Campbell. To honour her husband after his death in 1990, Mona donated to university programs of importance to the Colonel and her. In the 1990’s she led a campaign for a university chair in animal welfare. To recognize her contributions, in 1996, the UofG renamed the Centre for the Study of Animal Welfare, which had been established in 1989, to the Col. K.L. Campbell Centre for the Study of Animal Welfare. Since then, many invididual donors, organizations and companies have sponsored events, speakers and specific initiatives:
