Last week, we hosted the Dairy Cow Welfare Rotation as part of our Saputo Dairy Care Program. 10 students from 4 Canadian Veterinary Schools participated including students from OVC, AVC, WCVM, U of Montreal.
Recently the University of Guelph was represented by 3 teams at the AVMA's Animal Welfare Assessment Contest in River Falls Wisconsin. Species included dairy cows on a compost bedded pack, penguins in a zoo, commercial breeding dogs, and laboratory frogs (Xenopus laevis).
